Healing Philosophy
I believe that deep, personal transformation can be a reality for each of us.
I’ve worked in the mental health field, in a variety of clinical settings, for over 35 years. I have successfully guided individuals, couples and teens in different stages of life through healing journeys that addressed a wide variety of problems. Developing insight through talking and personal exploration is very important in our healing process and I am well grounded in traditional talking therapy.
I have also learned that the deepest healing occurs when we can allow behaviors and feelings to come to the surface and identify the roots that form limiting and painful belief systems. When we deeply face something—and feel all of the feelings around it—we can release it. Towards that end, I have been trained to use experiential techniques to support the process of deep and lasting healing. I draw from this tool chest of techniques as seems appropriate, needed and comfortable to clients as I work with them.
Treatment Techniques Include:
- Brainspotting
- EMDR
- Inner Child Work
- Guided Imagery
- Meditation
- Parts of Self Work
- Tapping
My specialty is helping people heal from the core inner wounds that can express as depression, anxiety, phobias, trauma and PTSD, poor self-image, addiction and conflicts in family and friend relationships.
I often work with couples, teaching useful communication skills as they learn to view the container of committed partnership as an opportunity for self-exploration and personal growth.
I continue to work with many young adults, supporting them in healing from early childhood issues as they make the transition into a successful adult life.
